Green spaces and walks: “Breathe Albacete naturally”

Albacete is a city that surprises with the breadth and quality of its green spaces. Its streets are filled with spaces designed for strolling, relaxing, and connecting with nature without sacrificing the urban environment. Three of them are truly essential for discovering the liveliest and most natural side of Albacete.

If Albacete is the “New York of La Mancha,” as Azorín defined it, then Abelardo Sánchez Park is its own Central Park. With 120,000 square metres of trees, it is the largest urban park in Castilla-La Mancha and the lung of the city. Inaugurated at the beginning of the 20th century, it is also the most beloved by the people of Albacete. Its shaded paths, children’s areas, sculptures, and the Albacete Museum make it an ideal place for strolling, reading, exercising, or even just relaxing.

To the south of the city, the Castilla-La Mancha Botanical Garden offers a unique and enriching experience. With thousands of native and exotic plant species, it offers a journey through habitats, greenhouses, and educational spaces. Perfect for those interested in learning about and enjoying biodiversity in a well-maintained and accessible environment.

The third of these large spaces is the Lineal Park, which runs through Albacete along the old railway line. Now a long urban promenade filled with fountains, gardens, and rest areas, it’s ideal for walking, cycling, or quality time with the family.

These parks aren’t just a landscape; they’re part of the city’s identity. They are places that reflect Albacete’s friendly aura and its peaceful way of life.

Come and take a stroll through Albacete’s parks, where nature is also heritage.
